Coverage in four measures.

Vehicle protection programs administered by NAHSC are written at four coverage levels, from core powertrain to full exclusionary coverage. Read the actual contract language below — before you buy, and before you ever need it.

The Four Levels

Essential to Executive.

Each level includes everything in the level before it. Every plan pays the repair facility directly on covered claims — you pay the deductible on your declarations page, nothing more for covered work.

Most Complete
Executive
Elite Protection

An exclusionary coverage contract — the broadest form of protection available. Everything on the vehicle is covered unless it is explicitly listed as excluded.

Sample deductible: $200
Premium
Advanced Protection

Near-comprehensive mechanical coverage, including advanced technology components and all major vehicle systems — named in writing, system by system.

Sample deductible: $200
Signature
Expanded Coverage

Expands beyond powertrain basics to include cooling, electrical systems, air conditioning, brakes, and fuel delivery — the components that keep your vehicle running comfortably day to day.

Sample deductible: $200
Essential
Core Protection

Your vehicle’s most critical mechanical systems — engine, transmission, and drivetrain — including seals, gaskets, and turbocharger components where applicable.

Sample deductible: $500

Each level includes everything in the level below it. Deductibles shown are from the sample contracts; your declarations page states yours.

Executive Elite Protection — exclusionary

The Executive contract flips the logic of the other levels: every component of the vehicle is a covered part unless it is specifically listed as excluded. If it isn’t on the exclusions list, it’s covered. The notable exclusions fall into a few families:

Body & cosmetic

Frame and body panels, sheet metal, bumpers, moldings and trim, upholstery and carpet, glass and glass assemblies, paint and cosmetic finishes.

Wear & maintenance items

Brake pads, drums, rotors and shoes; belts and hoses; wiper blades; spark and glow plugs; battery and cables; oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and other routine maintenance.

Ride & exhaust

Struts and shock absorbers; the exhaust system, catalytic converter, and diesel emissions components.

Accessories

Lighting assemblies and bulbs, keyless entry transmitters, CB radios and aftermarket audio, winches, wheels and wheel covers.

Premium Advanced Protection

Everything in Signature, plus three more major systems:

Advanced electrical

Suspension level-control compressor and sensors; electronic coil packs; speed, crankshaft-position, camshaft-position, and knock sensors; instrument cluster; factory anti-theft system; ABS pump and pressure control components.

Steering

Power steering pump, rack and pinion, internally lubricated steering gear parts, main and intermediate shafts, pitman and idler arms, tie rod ends and drag/center link.

Suspension

Upper and lower control arms, shafts and bushings; ball joints; steering knuckles; stabilizer shaft, linkage and bushings; torsion bars, coil and leaf springs; spindles; wheel bearings.

Signature Expanded Coverage

Everything in Essential, plus the daily-driver systems:

Cooling system

Radiator, water pump, and housings.

Base electrical

Alternator, starter and solenoid, control modules, gauges, horns, washer pumps and wiper motors, power window, seat and door-lock motors, window regulators, and the wiring harnesses for covered components.

Air conditioning

Compressor, condenser, evaporator core, accumulator, receiver/dryer, orifice and expansion valve, blower motor, and temperature control unit.

Brakes (hydraulics)

Master cylinder, power assist booster, wheel cylinders, disc calipers, proportioning valves, self-adjusters, and actuators. (Friction parts — pads, rotors, shoes — are wear items and not covered at any level.)

Fuel delivery

Fuel injectors, fuel pumps, fuel injection pump, fuel tank, and pressure regulator.

Essential Core Protection

The critical powertrain, protected:

Engine (gas or diesel)

All internally lubricated parts: timing components, valvetrain, oil pump, flywheel and ring gear, pulleys, manifolds, mounts and more. The block, heads, and covers are covered when damaged by the failure of an internally lubricated part.

Transmission

All internally lubricated parts, the torque converter, mounts and internal linkage, and control modules and solenoids.

Transfer unit & drive axle

Transfer case internals (4x4); axle shafts, CV and universal joints, drive shafts, locking hubs, bearings and retainers.

Turbo / supercharger

All internally lubricated parts of the factory-installed turbocharger or supercharger.

Seals & gaskets

Covered in conjunction with the failure of a covered component listed above.

The whole document, not a summary — declarations, definitions, schedule of coverages, exclusions, benefits, and cancellation terms.

These are specimen documents, marked SAMPLE — NOT A CONTRACT. They show representative terms for each coverage level. The parties, terms, deductible, and contact information on your executed contract’s declarations page govern your coverage. Program availability and terms vary by brand and state.
